According to the codex (WP Features/Creating Content), WP supports...
Post to the future
You can write a post today and have it appear on the weblog at a future date, automatically.
...but I can't find any more information on how to do that. Could someone please give me a quick overview?

1. Options -> Writing, set the following
When starting a post, show: Advanced Controls
Click Update Options
2. Write-> Write Post
Check Edit Timestamp under Advanced fieldset and modify the date values.
I tried that (setting the timestamp a few minutes ahead) and the post shows up as soon as I hit "Publish".
I thought maybe that was because I was logged in as Administrator, so I logged out but the post was still showing.

Is the timestamp on that post the current time or the one that you set (in the future)?
Just make sure you check Edit Timestamp.
Sorry, I realize now what I needed to do. As alphaoide said, I should have checked "Edit Timestamp".
FWIW, I find that kind of counterintuitive. If you change the timestamp value before you hit "Publish", aren't you signalling to WP that you want to edit it?
Hmm.. I've used this future in previous version of WordPress before. But yesterday, I posted 3 posts to the future, and they didn't show up today. Does anyone know why?
To fix this, I moved the date back to yesterday..

Look at the calendar. You will see that March 30th has a link on it (because I have posts there). If you click on that link, you will get a 404. Why is that when I had a post to the future on that date?
[edit] nevermind, it seems to be working now. Maybe the time is slow on my server.
