    Hi.

I've recently discovered the post to future aspect of wordpress 1.5. Its great. Being able to change the time stamp and have it appear only when that time stamp arrives is nice.

However I have a question. When I post to the future in this fashion, when does the sites I wish to ping get pinged? When I first hit publish now, or when It appears on the site?

If it pings them now, I'm afraid of getting hit with a spammer tag, if I work on say 1 weeks worth of entries before going on vacation (as I plan to do soon).

If it pings at the times its posted that's great. :) can anyone help?

    Hi Uberwolf
I'm interested in doing the same thing as you describe. I've found this plugin and example which may help. It allows you to post at one time and suppress the ping, then it checks at intervals to see if any of the future posts are now live and if so it pings them.

have a look at the wp-cron-future-pings example.

I've not used this, just found it actually, but it looks like it will do what we are looking for.
