Post to Email Question (5 posts)

There are plenty of post to email plugins that will email a subscriber when a post is published. However, is there a plugin that will send out an email of posts made every week or fortnightly period.

Ideally I'd like to notify users once a week or fortnight and the email sent to subscribers would include a summary of the number of posts published in that period.

Can anyone recommend such a plugin or method using WordPress 'php code.'

    Cheers, Steveo

This is a tough one and I've been following this up. In effect the wp-ajax-newsletter through google code allows you to automatically send email updates every week, fortnight or every 2, 3, 4 posts.

The downside is that you can only send them in
    a). plain text format and
b). you cannot import your existing contacts using a csv/xml file in (although I think the coding could be hacked to accommodate extra)

Sending out a newsletter every two posts or week is an important feature that should exist in wp newsletter plugins but doesn't. The problem with using an non-wp plugin is that how a third party Newsletter cannot read the rss of wordpress to do this.

If anyone has any suggestions to help this problem I'd really appreciate them at this point.

    Best Wishes, RF

"Subscribe2 provides a comprehensive subscription management system for WordPress blogs that sends email notifications on a per-post or periodical basis to a list of subscribers"

Thanks MichealH, I'll check into it more thoroughly and see what can be done. The alternatives are woefully expensive otherwise and basically mean another CMS to wordpress just as I have it doing what I want ;)
