Post to another WordPress site

I have two sites running on WordPress. I have a form on one site that generates a custom post type, and I would like this custom post type to be posted to another WordPress site. How can I do this? Is it as easy as getting an RSS from the custom post type. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with this and can talk about the abilities they had with a particular process(es).
