   If anyone could give me a hand with this I'd be eternally grateful.

   I've just installed WordPress, and I find that my post title links are leading to the static homepage of my site.

   I've tried resetting the permalinks to 'default', but it made no difference.

   I'm not sure whether this is relevant, but I have installed WordPress in a subfolder and am using it only for the blog section of my site. I was just wondering whether there might be some confusion between mysite.com/index.html and mysite.com/wordpress/index.php.

   Heartfelt thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

   Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

   Looks like you have some rewrite rules associated with your main site that are interfering with the WordPress site. Can you try renaming any .htaccess file in your domain's root folder?

   I just gave it a go, but unfortunately nothing has changed. Am I supposed to rename it to anything in particular? I just called it .htaccessrenamed.

   What urls are entered in Settings -> General?

   Well that's wrong! Both urls should be http://www.madiganillustration.com/wordpress See Changing_The_Site_URL.
