    Why are my letters overlapping each other when I switch to "Heading 1" ? Can I not space them out more so they don't overlap ?

    you might need to change/add something in style.css of your theme;

    please use the Firefox add-on Firebug http://getfirebug.com/ for these kind of formatting problems.
