I've looked for information o how to use post tags, but all I can find is the fact that you have to edit your template? What's that all about?
Anyway I can't find anything else so can anyone point me to a tutorial on how to set them up please?

You mean how to display them on your blog?

Look at the WordPress Default theme's index.php for an example of the Template Tag, the_tags(), in use.

I looked at that page and I have absolutely not a clue what it's referring to.
I'm talking about post tags. When you ahve a new post you get the chance to add post tags. You can make a word a post tag. I ca't describe it bette as I don't know what it's for that's why I'm asking. Post tags not template tags.
Thanks for taking the time but, does anyone else have an idea what function the post tags are?
When you make a new post they're underneath the publish block.

    Okay a question:

Are you asking how to display Tags on your blog with each post?

If so, you can use the_tags() to display them...

2,. Want to how to show them on the blog page?
Use <?php the_tags(); ?> as indicated by MichaelH.

    3. What exactly did you mean by "how to set them up"?
