I added a new post, my first one, to my page but all I see online is
Not Found
Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.
But on my dashboard it is showing as published 37 minutes ago. I can see it in preview just the way I want it.

It shows as published and it shows if I do a search. Is there a button I have checked somewhere?

How? Did you modify any of the theme's template files or CSS?

I am not sure. Probably the template.
Maybe I should start anew.
I would also like to have multiple menu tabs below the header but my themes says it only supports one.

Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress 3.2 theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. Create a child theme for your changes. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.
