I installed wordpress 2.6.5 on my localhost.

I tried to write a post. But its not showing anything. I get a error:

    Not Found

Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here.

The posts are stored in database and when I try to access them with the url
    http://localhost/?p=1

I can access them. But the homepage doesn't just show anything. And even in the admin panel, there are no posts.

When I try to write a page, I am able to do it successfully.

Also, I uploaded the same on my Linux Server online and it works.

    Can someone please help?

    sagarpatil,

Did you publish the post, after saving it?

Tip: Many volunteers look for posts without responses. By your repeated bumps to this thread, you removed yourself from that list.

Moral: Patience. Support is volunteer based. Be patient.

Yeah, I have published it. The thing is, I can see the individual posts, but nothing comes on the homepage. Besides these, there is no entry of any posts in Manage Posts section.

    And HandySolo,
I am extremely sorry, I was too desperate to solve that problem. You know how it is when you are stuck with bugs, I couldn't work on the project after that.
But now I have realized that patience is important. I am sorry about that, this was my first topic.

There is a thread with a similar issue, of nothing showing in the admin dashboard.

It was due to a plugin. I don't know if this is your case.

If you do have plugins installed, try to deactivate all of them. If this solves the problem, then reactivate them one by one.

    Check this thread too.

    Hope this helps!

    sagarpatil,

when I checked this thread earlier, the image links you gave weren't showing... odd

One thing you can try, is to customize and update your permalinks. But I am not sure this is the problem.

Considering it's a very fresh test install, if I were you I'd copy and paste the posts you have written on a text file (if there is actual content you don't want to lose), and would install a clean copy of WordPress again. This may save you time.

Maybe some files are missing, or index.php is faulty.
