   Is there any way I can publish a post but not have it show up on the front page of my blog?

   Pick one of these two:

   1) Give it a date far in the post
   2) Give it a unique category, and use a plugin to exclude that category from the front page

   relevant plugins

   You can use a plugin, such as CQS
   that might restrict what category of posts get displayed on the front page.

   or

   You might use the static front page feature of WordPress to choose something besides your posts to appear on that 'front page'. See Administration > Options > Reading

   or

   You could modify your theme to exclude posts in The Loop.

   Thanks much for the help. Front Page Exclude Catagories plugin works fantastic
