Post Meta Description Broken on Social Sites

Hello.

This plugin has worked very well for me in the past. Then, all of a sudden, the meta descriptions I write for my posts are not being displayed properly on social sites.

When I post a link to Facebook, FB only grabs the first few lines of the post. The meta description is missing altogether.

When I post a link to Google+, G+ grabs both the meta description and the first few sentences.

It’s a mess.

I haven’t made any changes to the code or the settings, so I’m wondering if it’s time for a plugin update?

Any feedback or assistance would be much appreciated.
