Post listing with custom field

I am working on a site for a teacher. I want to display upcoming classes on the home page with links to the full descriptions.

I have the class dates in a custom field called dates.

What I would like to do is get a list of all classes (linked to the full description) with the dates underneath. Something like this:

Underwater basketweaving
March 1-3, 2007

Is there a plugin to help me do this? I have been using the very helpful “customizable post listings,” but it doesn’t seem to be able to handle custom fields.
