Post exporter breaking on image tags

We’re trying to use the export tool to get our client’s blogs, but it doesn’t seem to work for posts that start with <img. Posts that start with text export fine, but if they start with <img, the content only has
<br />
in it.

Is there something we can do to fix this? There are about 900 blogs so opening and editing each one would be a huge pain.
