I think I must be going crazy. I’ve been working on my site for over a year using the regular editor (toolbar?) on either a post or a page. By regular, I mean, being able to change font attributes, font type, undo, and other things that I guess were added with the installation of a plugin. I haven’t deleted any plugins but now I have zero editing capabilities. Also along with this, I can no longer see the media image I upload into the post/page while in edit mode. I upload it/insert into the page/post….but it’s not there. I can view the actual web page and the image is there, but not on the editor page in the dashboard. I have a second site and everything on that post editor is just hunky dory.

This is a link to a page I made with screenshots of each issue….But see where it says “We would love to hear from you! Call us at (512) 858-4500”? I can’t even see that on the editor mode on the page. I may be using all wrong terminology, but hopefully you get the picture. Thanks!

Image 1, what my editor looks like now. Image 2, what it should (and does in my other site) look like. Thank you ANYONE! I need to moved forward and can’t until this is resolved.

  • Can’t see the image because we don’t have permissions to preview drafts.

But I went to your contact page (in production) and had a look.

    Some remedial checks:

    1. Go to Users >> Your profile, and at the top, ensure that “Disable visual editor” is unchecked.
    2. Are you using a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editor, such as TinyMCE? If so, ensure those settings are correct.
    3. This may seem like a pain, but it’s not. Go into your Plugins >> Installed plugins. Tick the box at the top-left. Bulk actions, deactivate all plugins — other than your WYSIWYG editor if you’re using one. Then try drafting a post.
    4. If it is a plugin conflict, reactivate your plugins a few at a time until you locate the culprit.

Keep in touch if you can provide any further details.

It was the TinyMCE. I had it, but must have inadvertently deleted it. I installed Ultimate TinyMCE and now see a plethora of options! Many more than I had before the issue. I will have to look through the settings, but this did fix the issue. I have one other related question-in the font settings, why can I only see the 8-10 fonts listed? Shouldn’t I be able to see all of my fonts on my computer? I want to be able to use a wide variety of fonts on my pages. Thank you again for your wonderful help!
