I’m still interested on how to display the category title in a post list.
Strange, i posted a reply at the morning 🙁
So, the category wise list is gone, and most probably for a long time till i release a group by algorithm. Now, for you, there’s tow way you can achieve this. 1. Create a separate list for each category posts, and use the shortcode one by one, put the category name manually on top of every list. 2. Revert back to the old plugin tagged 1.5.9 and never do any future updates unless you check the upgrade notice includes the group by feature.
Or, the current post list has a option to display categories associated with each posts using [post_terms tax=’category’], however i don’t think you are looking for that.
I really understand the feature you are talking about was very important for creating an category/posts archive type page easily. But what i have found is that for that duel channel algorithm, i couldn’t find a better idea to upgrade the plugin for a long time.
Good news is, i will brought back a grouping mechanism, not only with terms, but also with author, terms and year within next two month. So i hope you can stick with the older version till then, or migrate as per the recommendation 1.

In production site after seeing the changelog I haven’t updated and I’ll wait, but I did it in a test-site, where now I’ll try the n. 1 solution.
It’s more tricky because I used to have a custom template for that page and custom CSS where I divided the page into two columns using only two different lists with 2 and 4 categories each, in two divs (the result is here), but now I’ll have to make a list for each category I guess. I’ll try anyway and if I don’t succeed, I’ll wait.

Can you send me a link to your product site page where you are using the plugin ? I think i can adjust one using the latest version of the plugin.

Thank you very much for the quickness and the interest, but in the end I decided to use the same time I would have spent to rebuild the archive doing one from scratch by hand with some code. It was something I thought for a while (I’m in the mood to lighten up my “plugin pool”), so I took the opportunity also for learning something.
Everything I needed was a simple archive page, and I managed to make it exactly as it was before.
Your plugin now is too far complex for what I need, but it has served me well for years, when I started with WordPress I didn’t know anything about code and your plugin has been perfect to me.
