Support » Fixing WordPress » Post Author drop-down not showing in Admin

  • I set up a blog for a client. There are two users registered. My client’s login is the main admin account. He then set up his assistant with a user account. He first gave her access level of Subscriber. Then went back and changed it to Administrator. He needs her to be able to post his blog posts under his name.

However, when EITHER user logs in to Admin, the Post Author drop-down is NOT visible in the Add New Post screen. It is visible when going into the Edit Post screen and individually editing a post, but she has hundreds of posts to add, it would be far too tedious to add all these posts then go back and edit them all to change the author.

Post Author is also NOT visible from Quick Edit. It’s only showing up in the Edit Post screen.

Under Screen Options (very top of the page) when that’s displayed while viewing the Add Post page, “Post Author” is NOT one of the checkboxes that can be selected. It is, however, in the Edit Post screen.

Can anyone shed some light as to why this feature is not showing up on the Add Post screen? Any help greatly appreciated.

    Kym

  • Hi, I’ve the same problem before. Just add another Administrator. Then you can see the Post Author will be visible in Quick Edit. Not sure whether this is a bug or the feature needs 2 Administrator. TQ.
