[resolved] How to make an inner wrapper around the yearly ULs? (3 posts)

    Great plugin! I would just like to wrap all the ULs (the ones displayed in the sidebar widget for each year) in a DIV for style reasons. Could you point out where in the code would be the best place to make this edit?

    In other words, the HTML I'd like to end up with would be something like this: http://pastebin.com/6RXz310B

    Could you please instruct me on where to make this edit in your plugin, or, better yet, include this in an update?

    Thanks!

    Hi there! In case you haven't figured this out, you can output the desired DIVs by editing the plugin's widget_archives function. You change the following code:

    // Print out the archive list
    echo $this->build_archives_list($count);

    to this:

    // Print out the archive list
    echo '<div class=\'inner_wrapper\'>';
    echo $this->build_archives_list($count);
    echo '</div>';

    Unfortunately, if you make this change it will be overwritten the next time the plugin is updated. Still, I'm reluctant to add the change to the next update for fear that I will break some other user's styling.

    There is a way that I can extend the plugin to allow users to insert HTML before and after the archive list. I could implement this feature and notify you here when I release the version containing it. That way you can transition your site to use the new feature without being broken by the update. How does that sound?

    That sounds great! Can't wait for the new feature.
