  • It’s possible to install WordPress into a subdirectory of another WordPress installation, and it’s possible to install s2member in either or both of those installations.

Are you using Multisite? That’s not how I would do it. The best way would be two single installations.

It’s two single installs but I think this issue is that it’s looking for the login and options page at the first install location. Any solutions?

There could be something wrong with the way you’ve set up the Membership Options Page but, if you’re having trouble with the login page (not the Welcome page) then I think you might simply be trying to locate them in the wrong place.

    Have a look at this.

Still can’t get it working I think the site needs a dedicated URL and separate directory to work. It seems that it thinks it’s trying to find the S2 pages within the original database and NOT the new one.

Hmm, it should work, and in fact I currently have an installation working exactly like what you’re trying to achieve. Have you talked to your host to see if they can help?

Do you have an independent url for the S2 site?

I’m not quite sure what you mean. My main install is at mainsite.com and my subsite is at mainsite.com/subsite

This means that mainsite.com is in charge of all subdirectories except those that begin /subsite, which the subsite installation takes care of.

Hmm yeah that IS what I am trying to achieve then. Not sure why it’s not working though. Maybe I’m missing a setting in S2.

You’ve probably done these things already but, just in case:

    1. Try changing the Membership Options Page (under General Options) to a different page in your /subsite install and see if that works.

    2. On the General Options – Login Welcome Page, you can set the specific URL for the login page. Try fiddling with that.

Note: you can’t have them point to the same page, but s2 should throw a warning anyway if you do that.

If it still doesn’t work, I’d definitely suggest talking to your host.

Yep still not working. I’ll contact the host provider. Thanks
