[resolved] Possible to have locations but no map? (4 posts)

    I love this plugin, the problem is, the map feature clashes with another plugin I use:
    http://www.wplocalplus.com/

    Would it be possible to use the location feature, giving the person creating the even the option to add an address, but not use the map? Whatever script is calling the map is what's clashing with my other plugin, I believe. I have no problems, until I turn the location feature on, so I believe is the code that includes the map that is causing the problem.

    I'd like to have the location fields in the listing, but not call the map to be included in the listing. Is this possible?

    I think there's an option for this in the settings, but don't remember for sure. Another option is to make a copy of the template files that show the maps and customize them by commenting out the appropriate code: http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/using-template-files/

    I found the problem is in one line in em-posts.php
    if( !defined('EM_POST_TYPE_LOCATION') ) define('EM_POST_TYPE_LOCATION','location');

    If I change the word location to locations (with an s on the end), there is no conflict. I've created an event successfully and it can be searched, so It doesn't looking like changing the word "location" has had any effect.

    I guess it's all good for now.

    this is fine to do, but I advise you add the define(... line to your wp-config.php file, then the above bit will be ignored.

    Word of caution, this changes the name of your custom post type permanently, so you always need that line in your installation otherwise things can go haywire. Alternatively if you want to revert back to the norm, you'll need to replace all records in wp_posts where post_type=locations to location
