Possible to have featured image only on thumbnail?

    Since I cannot adjust the alignment of my featured image in the thumbnails on the main page, I would like to crop the image I want to use so it shows a nice composition. However, when you enter the post, this cropped image shows up and I don’t want it to be there, I’d like to have the cropped image as the thumbnail, and the full size image in the actual post. Is this possible? Like “Hide Featured Image in Post”? I know it doesn’t make much sense, but perhaps there is also a thumbnail setting I can use.

    This also makes it easier for me to not have the full resolution images loading on the front page which makes it very slow to load.
