I think it may be a good idea to add categories directly on the navigation/page bar, provided the list of categories aren't preposterously long.
Is it possible?

If your existing header.php uses wp_list_pages, could consider similar structure using the template tag, wp_list_categories().

thank you for the input. Is there some plugin that I can use for this purpose? The guides appeared to be a little complicated.
