Possible problem with pingbacks (3 posts)

When WordPress sends pingbacks, it seems to strip out some information of the url which it should ping.

This happens only if there's ampersands (&) in the url. For example url http://example.com/index.php?a=b&c=d will change to http://example.com/index.php?a=b&amp

I see that WordPress encodes the ampersand in the url to corresponding html entity (&) but fails to ping the whole url. That's because it strips out everything after the ";" mark.

Is this bug or feature? I'm trying get pingbacks work on my own custom blog so it would be nice to know if there's a fix for this.

  2. Looking around, it looks like a bug, but no one's reported it to trac. If you would, that would be good. It may be an easy fix no one ever noticed!

I'll report it. And I meant the amp; entity, not showing right in the first post...
