The next stage in the plugins oriented CMS evolution may be a move to the packages switching

Drupal has the switching upon the installation, but what I mean is something else: you create packages of the plugins and you let to download the entire packages and to switch them inside the application any time you want

I posted it on other forums and it turned out that people don't understand what I've said, so I've written it otherwise. This is how it goes now

The next stage in the plugins oriented CMS evolution may be a move to the packages switching

Developers choose the plugins and create the packages. You can download the packages and switch them any time you want

This way you don’t need to search for the plugins, you can choose what you want from the ready made CMS versions

I can't see the point personally, who's going to choose the packages?

Plus that's not even getting into the technical difficulties of plugins going wrong, what if one or two plugins in a given package stop working together after a few updates, whose resposibility is it then to fix the package, and what action would be taken, the package removed, adjusted or the effected plugins removed from that package?

By all means if someone wants to start a site that offers or recommends plugins as packages they can do so, but for me i don't feel such a thing would work for this site.

That's my opinion of course, others may have different thoughts or feelings about it..

Additionally you may wish to post this to the ideas section.
