   When I logged into my blog today, I found a visitor, a new 'user' i didn't invite nor did I give him/her permission to become a user. So he/she went bye-bye, deleted. Be careful, folks, it could be a hacker.

   Here's the info:
   New user registration on your blog A Writer's Love:

   Username: thorrooferzaquxt

   E-mail: [email censored]

   Mr/Mrs thorrooferzaquxt seems to think he/she has permission to become a user on the blogs. Be careful folks!! Any ideas on how I can keep this little pest off my website and to make his/her life a bit more difficult?? Thanks.

   if this is you: kimkouski.com/ you appear to have your settings such that anyone can register. kimkouski.com/wp-login.php?action=register

   There is a register link in your meta widget in the sidebar.

   ...if that isn't your site...nevermind!

   Go to your dashboard and under general settings there is a line that says Membership with a checkbox that says "Anyone can register". Make sure that is left unchecked.
