[resolved] Possible Conflict with 'Duplicator' Plugin (8 posts)

    I use the awesome plugin "Duplicator" to create snapshots of my WP installation.

    Recently I was having some problems with it (-all of- which may not be related to BPS), so I checked the Security Log and saw the following report

    >>>>>>>>>>> 403 Error Logged - 31 January 2013 - 01:53 <<<<<<<<<<<
    REMOTE_ADDR: xxx
    Host Name: xxx
    HTTP_CLIENT_IP:
    HTTP_FORWARDED:
    HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR:
    HTTP_X_CLUSTER_CLIENT_IP:
    REQUEST_METHOD: GET
    HTTP_REFERER: http://mydomain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=duplicator_diag_page
    REQUEST_URI: /wp-admin/admin.php?=PHPE9568F34-D428-11d2-A769-00AA001ACF42
    QUERY_STRING:
    HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0

    Lately the process of creating backup files has been generally failing on me altogether, but this may be a different issue...what I believe may be more relevant here is that the plugin has failed to record that there is indeed an available backup.

    This is what I see in the plugin's log:

    12:06:01 close returned: 1 (if null check your disk quota)
    12:06:01 log:class.zip=>ended
    12:06:01 log:act__create=>zip file size is: 106.06MB
    12:06:01 log:act__create=>zip archive complete.
    12:06:01 log:act__create=>unable to record to database

    So the backup was created, but it failed to record to database and display in the plugin's dashboard.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hmm I think the PHP Easter Egg filter is generating this error. Try commenting this security filter out in your wp-admin .htaccess file.

    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} \=PHP[0-9a-f]{8}-[0-9a-f]{4}-[0-9a-f]{4}-[0-9a-f]{4}-[0-9a-f]{12} [NC,OR]

    Thank you for you response. I commented the code line out, but still the report won't show up in the plugin's Dashboard

    I must also point out, that ever since posting this log, I've ran two instances of the backup process, but no new reports were registered at the BPS security log...don't know how to interpret that.

    I will also contact the author of the other plugin

    Have you done the standard BPS Troubleshooting steps to see if BPS is causing the issue/problem?

    1. Make a backup of your .htaccess files using BulletProof Security built-in Backup.
    2. Activate Default Mode on the Security Modes page.
    3. Use the Delete wp-admin .htaccess feature on the Security Modes page.
    4. Test your plugin or theme.
    5. Restore your .htaccess files using BulletProof Security built-in Restore.

    If the Duplicator plugin is working at step 4 then BPS is blocking something. If the Duplicator plugin is not working at step 4 then this issue/problem is not being caused by BPS.

    Also BPS does not do anything regarding your WordPress database besides preventing/blocking SQL Injections from being successful. BPS does not monitor/block/restrict your database directly.

    Now I haven't followed the troubleshooting steps as such.

    I will do so and report back

    Did you do the standard BPS troubleshooting steps yet?
