   The first sample blog I created occupied the enire home page (index.htm). Is it possible to insert a mini-sized blog within a given page on a website? For example, want to limit the width to 400 and height to 800, or by number of posts. Ideally, would like to position inside a table in Front Page, so the blog would appear on the right lower quadrant of the page. The blog would appear either in index.htm home page or, alternatively, in a different page.

   Well, first of all probably it will not work on index.htm.
   What do you call a "sample blog"? A post?

   The appearence of your blog depends entirely on the theme you are using.

   If by "FrontPage" you mean the Miscrosoft FrontPage - throw it out before you start to edit your WP files :)
