Have you checked our FAQs and tried Firebug?

Hi, I can't get it to run either. Just see the loading arrow activate and then disapper. I followed your instructions, and noticed a few things missing on my setup.

When I use the Media Uploader, I notice that I do not have the "Gallery" option. Just "from computer" "from URL" and "Media Library".

It seems I need another plugin called "Gallery". Is that correct?

I'm bummed this isn't working as it seems beautifully simple :(

Instead I'm using NextGEN Gallery and that works well enough.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

    Hi Gigi,
The "Gallery" tab is built in to WordPress, you don't need any additional plugins to use it.

    Try this step by step:

    1. Create a new post.
    2. Upload some images to the post using the media uploader. (Screenshot 2 on this page)
    3. Once the images have finished uploading, click "save all changes".

Do you see a Gallery tab in the uploader now? You should. If so, you can go to that tab to organize your images, or just close out of that box to go back to the post editor.

Then just add the shortcode [portfolio_slideshow] to the post editor. That's screenshot 3.

Or you can watch the video on our demo page. The demo is for the Pro version of the plugin, but the basics are all the same and will give you the idea of how it works.

Thanks, Dalton. I didn't know that uploading automatically without inserting into a post creates a gallery. I'm a little confused as to how to organize galleries and will just go ahead and play w/ WP some more.

The slideshow works ... to a point. If there's another slideshow or media thing going on beneath the post (e.g. NextGEN Gallery slideshow), it bombs - either only a sliver of the photos appear, or the next post appears in the middle of the slideshow. I don't have time to screencapture the movement right now, but when I do, I'll send the behavior to you.

Just as an FYI, the theme I'm using is Portfolio Press 0.7.4 by Devin Price.

Thanks for your quick response, and submitting this plugin. I may use it for a different site!

If you can send me a link to a working example of the problem you're experiencing, I'm sure I can help out. It sounds like a CSS issue. Our plugin supports multiple slideshows per page and should flow with the rest of the site like any other object.

I'm having a similar problem with my slideshow.. It's on my homepage. When i'm logged in as an admin, it shows up just fine, but when I'm logged out, you see this:

    Hi Jay,
Are you running a minifying/caching script? That would explain why it doesn't work when you're not logged in. Try disabling minification - it can be really tricky and can totally trash your scripts if it's not set up right.

Thanks Dalton, that worked perfectly! As we like to say in the office...
