[resolved] Problem posting new posts (7 posts)

    Hi

I recently upgraded to 2.6 and have a problem with it. When I try writing a new post everything works fine till I click on either the save or publish button. A new page loads, bringing me to the Manage window, but there is no new post. I never get any kind of error message or confirmation or anything.

Nothing new appears in the database, either.

I'm lost as to where to search for what actualy happens, because nothing seems to happen at all.

Anybody with some idea as to what is wrong?

    Thank you,
    Hauke Klimenko

can you try to delete a post and see if it works,

first extract a site xml from wp-admin/export.php

than delete a post, to see if the admin has any database interaction at all

if it can delete posts, than maybe try another browser, or try disabling all of your plugins, you have to update your plugins to new versions because the 2.6 has some core changes

Well, deleting from the manager works like a charm. Importing the export though didn't work. Again no errors or anything, it even told me everything worked as advertised, but the deleted post didn't come back.

Normaly I use FF3, I tried IE7, same basic problem, only clicking on save/publish doesn't bring me to the manager, but to a new, empty write post window.

Only plugins running are Akismet and Lightbox 2, deactivating them changes nothing.

Made it myself, deleting the old files, copying the new ones and running upgrade.php

did you change anything in the wp-config file?

i know its a pain but backup your mysql and install it from scratch, a file must be missing or a permission is wrong of a file.

I had hoped I would get around that. ^_^ But I made a clean install and imported the database afterwards, now everything works again. Thanks for the help. =)
