Popularity Contest plugin won't work in widgets (9 posts)

I have the Popularity Contest installed, and you can see the little popularity % brackets in my posts, and I have the right code to call the top 10 posts in a widget in my sidebar, but it's not calling the top 10 posts.

When I paste the same code directly into my sidebar.php file, it does work.

There's some kind of conflict with the widgets and the popularity contests call. Can someone help me figure out how to fix it?

The problems started when I upgraded to WordPress 2.2.

I can confirm that this happens to me as well (site here). Currently I am using the "WordPress Reports Most Active Widget" plugin but it's not the same

If you're talking to me then yes. Someone else created a widget for it

Hi there dbo, thanks for the link! I uploaded both Alex King's plugin and the widget fix from Richard Rosalion. However the title "Most Popular Posts" appears twice on my blog, like this:

Did you have the same problem, and if you did, how did you fix it?

    dbo,

In the link you gave, http://tech.sobriquet.net/projects/popularity-contest-widget/

When I clicked download, all I see is code, is that a bug..?

It's not a bug. When a plugin appears in this way, you have to download it this way:

    1. select all of the text on that page,
    2. copy it into a html editor,
    3. save the file as "popularity-contest-widget.php", and
    4. upload it to your plugin directory.
