If it exists, it sure is hard to find. The easiest solution is probably to add recent posts to your main site and popular ones/blog to the blogs. If you’d find a better solution, I’m interested to hear. GL!
Define popular?
WP doesn’t track those things natively, so you’d need to get a plugin that does, and then call it for each site on the network, aggregate, blah blah blah.
Even the ‘featured sites’ on WP.com is a manually curated list.
With popular I mean the post with the most pageviews 🙂
There is the wordpress popular post – but that only works for one blog.
Then there’s http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nrelate-most-popular/faq – which should be working on multisites – but I can’t seem to set it up correctly.
I know for a fact that this page looklab.dk has setup wordpress popular post to work on multisites (it’s the two top widgets in the sidebar) – but I’m not quite sure how they did it.
Can I use your plugin with WordPress Multisite?
Absolutely. You must activate our plugin on each individual website in your Multi-site install. You cannot use “Network Activate”.
That doesn’t seem to work how you think it does. THAT tells me ‘Each popularity is per site.’
That said, see http://nrelate.com/forum/topic/using-nrelate-on-wordpress-multisite/
Do you think it’s possible to change the nrelate most popular post in that way as well?
You’d want to ask the nrealte people, and as they have their own forum (which I linked to, hint hint 😉 ) you should ask there.
