• Hello,

I like this plugin and I’d like to show popular posts. The bad thing is that some of the posts that are popular at the moment are pretty old.

I want to be able to tell how old a post can be in order to be shown in the list.

In my case I’d like to list popular posts for the past 3 days that have been submitted no more than 30 days ago.

    Any tip will do 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

At the moment, the plugin does not offer this kind of functionality. WPP will list all posts viewed/commented in the selected time range no matter when these were published.

I might add a way to filter by post date publication in the future, though, but for the time being it can’t be done without hacking the plugin’s code.

Yes, I can see that it has to be hard coded. I’ll tweak it when I’ve time and post a solution here.

By the way, I see that you had an option to disable caching, but it is not supported anymore. Any idea on how to prevent caching the plugin. I’m using WP Super Cache.

The caching issue has been in the low priority list for a while, but it does need some adjustments. Right now, I’ve been working on other features and so far everything seems to be stable. Once I’m done with it, I’ll take a look into caching as well.

I would also like to not show posts older than a certain date in the widget.

    NIcotineLL, any luck with this?

    Hi,

    any news about this function?

I really love this plugin (thanks for that) and I use it on several blogs. But in a new one I want only display popular posts of the last week.

How can I do that? If it is not possible with this plugin, can somebody show me how to fix it in a way that it still looks like here: http://tecbuy.de/ (right sidebar top links with thumbnails)

Thank you very much for your great work and every possible help.

My dirty solution was to create a category “hide from popular” and put any old articles that popped up in the widget into this category, then hid the category from the widget.

This obviously is lame because then the category shows up in other places and I have to do it for each item, but it gets the job done for now.

I already did that in an other project, but meanwhile I am looking for a real solution. The Problem is that other popular post widgets were not as good as this one for me. I think there are a lot of people with the same request 🙁 so an update with this function would be great.

I don’t mean to sound harsh but c’mon guys, please try a bit and read what have been posted before.
