I am having issues with the floating brown “Follow” box that pops up in the lower right hand corner of my blog. It doesn’t work. When anyone clicks on it, it just takes them to a 404 error page.

I’m aware that I have to do *something* to set this up, but i can’t figure it out! when I went into my dashboard and examined the Follow settings on the panel, I see this cryptic (to me) text:

“In order to get a functional Follow floating button you must set this to “Subscribe” For installing instructions visit http://www.mywp.in and go to ReadMe page. The Permalink to the Subscribe page must be “your blog url address/subscribe””

That web link they gave me does not work, and I don’t know “what” is supposed to be set to “subscribe.”

Is there a set of “Enabling the Follow Button for Dummies” or similar that you can point me to?

  • When you have a user signup, are they still being added to your list?

no, they are not. They just get that 404 error code apparently and then never get updates.

However, if they sign up to “follow” my blog from within the blog – a widget I have on the side right panel – THAT works.

The one that errors out and never works is the special WordPress box that floats up all by itself, without my planning or say-so, in the lower right corner of the blog. That brown box with orange letters and the “Follow” on it.

I’m not sure how or what to configure on my blog to make that little pop up box work!
