• Hi,
first let me thank you for the plugin! I love polylang and hopefully you can help me as I’d really like to keep using it!
I installed it a couple of months ago and everything went fine, I have 2 languages on my site, Spanish & English. Now some 2 weeks ago or so I noticed a problem: the blog posts didn’t work well, both versions, english and spanish, showed all posts, not just the english or spanish ones.
Every other thing runs fine, pages, sliders, menus… but I can’t make the blog posts work!
I had recently installed 2 plugins, “jQuery Vertical Accordion Menu” and “User Access Manager” so I suspected they could be causing a conflict, deactivated them but nothing changed.

I tried everything I could think of: updated every plugin, theme and wordpress, deactivated the plugins, uninstalled and installed polylang… finally I deactivated all plugins and switched to Twenty Thirteen and suddenly the blog posts worked fine again!!
I activated every plugin again, one by one, and everything keep working fine but when I switched to my theme, it worked bad again 🙁

I asked the author of the theme but he says everything is ok and doesn’t know about polylang, he keep telling me to use WPML
The thing is polylang and my theme worked fine for a couple of months so I don’t think it’s the theme’s fault…

I am running wp 3.7.1, polylang 1.2.3 and several other plugins, all up to date. My theme is jPhotolio and my site is http://www.quietinvestment.com (polylang is deactivated right now), if you need further info just let me know.

I just don’t know what more to do, any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Fernando.

For now I would advise to run a test site with older versions of Polylang and your theme and check which upgrade breaks the compatibility.

    Thanks for your answer,
I tried 1.1 and 1.04, neither worked, I have no idea what to do next so I suppose I have to move on 🙁

If I well understand, it used to work with previous versions of your theme and Polylang.

If you tried with you newest theme version and older Polylang versions and it still does not work, then it means that this is not Polylang upgrade which broke the compatibility but the theme uprade.

Did you try with an old version of your theme?

    Hi!
I re-built a new test site from scratch, installed the theme, then polylang and it worked fine. Then installed every plugin and tried polylang after installing each plugin, and it worked fine everytime!

this is the test site, when everything is fine:
    http://quietinvestment.com/test/

this is the real site, when the problem remains:
    http://www.quietinvestment.com/en/

on top you can see 2 articles, “Financias” and “Finances”, the first one is in spanish (like the rest of the site), the second one is in english. It should just show the english article.
It doesn’t matter if you choose the english version or the spanish version of the page on the bottom bar, it always shows all articles. But if you look at the menu on the right it only shows the categories either in spanish or in english.

Now, if I swicth to another theme the articles work ok, but in my test site everything works fine with the same theme/plugins! Could there be something in the content or in the articles that broke things up?

This is a real headscratcher and your help will be greatly appreciatted.

    Thanks in advance.

but it’s a follow up on the old topic… is not ok?

I just think you’re far more likely to get a reply if you post a new topic. 🙂
