   Hey everyone. I'm new to wordpress and have integrated it into a site I've put together for a friend who's an author. What plugins would you recommend for an events calendar (preferrably in sidebar) and a poll for feedback on the book?

   Democracy is definitely the best poll plugin.

   As for a calendar, see the Codex.
