New questions
1) is there a way to set up here (or any wordpress blog) to receive email notifications of new posts in the blog like you can on a forum?
2) what do you think of the animated header. just curious on your opinion. it has 20 or so rotating political quotes.

I like the animated header with the quotes. I thought there was a way to setup notifications by email any time a user post a new entry but I went back through the options page of the dashboard and couldn't find it. So I guess not.

still configuring but it was very easy to add. i love the plug ins!
On my site - how do I make the rectangle with my navigation buttons (home, about, contact) shorter in height. The rectangle the navigation links are in just looks to tall and I think it will look better if I can adjust it down. I am having a hard time finding this in the templates.

installed custom theme and then added animated header and other customizations. Will keep adding additional items through the weekend. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I like the site. Like the newspaper-esque format and the clean choice of fonts and colors. I'm digging the feature article at the top as well.
I've been planning on upgrading my blog and your site's giving me some good ideas.

Thanks depsypher for the feedback and positive words. I am trying to make the site different then all the rest out there. i started with a great template theme and then adding more and more to it.

Nice site, good luck with it. But I don't care for it being fixed at 1024x768, but that's just me..
It's "okay", nothing I would jump up and down over, or bookmark.
For future reference, the gods that run this forum frown on the use of signatures in your posts.. I am referring to your constant advertising of you blog in all your replies. Its in the forum rules, if you want to check :)

Signatures on all posts will be removed. Signatures create clutter and distract from the information and help we are trying to provide.

Paul_mcnelis - thanks for the positive feedback. I went back and forth with the fixed width thing and looked at it on about 10 different size screens and it fit perfectly on all of them so far in IE or FF.
added an "Advertise" page tonight. Would love some feedback.
Please disregard the prices shown, they are just so the page looks complete. I am mainly interested in if you like the layout of the page and if the info is presented in a clear manner.

But this forum is NOT about commenting on your content. On the contrary: comments on the content of blogs are strongly discouraged.
So, unless you have some new technical achievement you want to show off... all the bumping will be considered fishing for visitors and might be removed.
wow, I am sorry moshu. I really can not believe how negative many of the comments from moderators are on this blog in general. i had no intention of "bumping" my thread or any malicious anti-establishment intent. Just looking for feedback. Sorry again.
