PodPress plugin installation error (1 post)

    Hi,
    I just attempted to install the PodPress plugin onto my wordpress 2.0 site. As per the instructions, I uploaded the /podpress/ directory into my plugins directory.

    I can get to the plugin control page to activate the plugin. When I select to activate podpress, I get the following error:

    Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /homepages/8/d89320265/htdocs/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/podpress/podpress_class.php on line 282

    which corresponds to this code:
    if(!$role->has_cap('premium_content')) {
    $role->add_cap('premium_content');

    So the plugin doesn't work for me. However, attempting to navigate to anywhere else on the blog gave me this error:

    Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /homepages/8/d89320265/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 319

    which corresponds to this code:
    return $wp_roles->get_role($role);

    I am able to revert back to "normal" by deleting the podpress directory from my plugins directory. Every time I try activating it, however I get this behavior.
    Does anyone have a diagnosis/workaround/fix?
