I installed wordpress.org from godaddy a while back. Since then I have been trying to install and use plugins. Every plugin I install and then activate never works properly. I will usually get a screen for some settings in each plugin but when I try to do anything or use it in any way none of the functionality of the plugin works. Any suggestions? Plugins are the main reason i switched to wordpress and now I cannot seem to use them :(

get a tutor? it sounds like, from here, with what little info youve provided, that the issue is with your understanding of how to use plugins, not with the plugins functioning themselves.
Unless you happen to be hosted on godaddy's windows hosting. if you are, i would start by getting moved onto their linux hosting, then seeing if your "generically described" issues dont go away.
if they dont -- get a local tutor.

I can say that I have used a few wp installs on godaddy, and have been very happy with it, and using plugins.
Sorry cant help without a few more details...can you give a bit more info?
What is the plugin?
What is it supposed to do?
What is it not doing?
If it adds something to the site ui, have you put the plugins into widget areas on your site?
With a bit more info, I think we can help you get going!!!!
