Plugins trying to install to non-existent location (1 post)

I'm having trouble with my wordpress blog trying to auto install plugins to some weird, random location that it will never find. I have - in a past version - been able to install plugins this way, but now whenever I try, it attempts to send them to the aforementioned location, which reads as misc/(site's ftp address divided up with slashes)/misc/web/(blogs's web address)/wp-content/plugins. How do I redirect it to just (web address)/wp-content/plugins? This is driving me crazy. My pics upload fine, so it's just the plugins. I've been working with sub domains on e-aagh.net (hosted by bravenet.com) for years, making and hosting numerous websites dedicated to various topics, and I've never had this much trouble. Any help?
