plugins show in filezilla and cpanel but not in wordpress

    This is the second time in as many months that i’ve been hacked. I know it was not my fault this time – maybe even last time. I had the machine scanned for any intruder and it came out clean, but I digress.

    So I upload my backup. Plugins show up in File Manager in cpanel, they show up in Filezilla but not in the plugin section of my wordpress blog. Why?

    Is this a single site install or multisite?

    Single. Lots of things aren’t showing like tags for instance. and categories

    Ok – let’s get back to basics. Can you switch to Twenty Eleven and reset the plugins folder by PhpMyAdmin?

    I think it’s too late for that. I already deleted some and installed new plugins. I’m actually more concerned about the tag cloud missing as well as categories and locations. A lot of info is missing, and none of it my fault. There was a serious issue with their servers. Supposedly, it’s fixed.

    I think it’s too late for that.

    No it’s not. Given your recent experiences, I thought you would understand that this is the most basic troubleshooting. If you cannot work with us, then we cannot help you.

    I wasn’t able to do it under phpmyadmin but I did switch to twenty eleven and disabled plugins.
