• Hi,
I have a problems with plugins, suddenly all the plugins have disappeared and when I try to install them again I fail and I get the message below:
    Installing the plugin…
    Could not create directory
    Plugin install failed.
    Return to Plugin Installer
I have tried to create directory manually in filezilla and the problem still the same, I have also downloaded it manually and copied it to the directory in filezilla and it did not work ( still there are no plugins ).
    What should I do?
    Regards,
    Tarek

  • Hey Tarek

It’s possible the directory you created has permissions that are too strict; and thus WordPress can’t write within the folder.

Try setting permissions for the /plugins folder (using Filezilla) to 755 and then try again. If that doesn’t help, you can also try 777. Although, I don’t recommend leaving it at 777 even if it does end up working.

PS: The parent /wp-content folder should also have 755 permissions.
