• I installed kittens-spaminator which seems very simple, just drag the file into the plugins folder, go to plugins on my admin page, then click activate. But when I do that I get a blank page with the following in the address bar:
    /plugins.php?action=activate&plugin=kittens-spaminator.php
It doesn’t seem to be activating the plugin because if I go back to the plugins page it still says “activate”. Do these plugin php pages need permissions set to something specific?

  • That’s all there is to it. I’d go into the admin panel and deactivate the plugin, then I would suggest re-downloading the plugin, unzip it, and upload a fresh copy. Then go back to the admin panel and activate it again.
There is no other actions needed than putting it into the plugins folder and then activating it.
If that doesn’t work, maybe upload plugins.php again. Let us know how you make out.

I assume that the plugins are already deactivated because under “Action” it reads “Activate”. Am I correct?
This actually happens with all of the plugins. Even the standard ones that get installed initially. All go to a blank page (the plugin php page with no content.
I re-uploaded the plugins.php file and still have the same problem.

    Hi,
if you are using 1.3alpha this might help you.
    http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/cafelog/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php?r1=1.216&r2=1.217
WP couldn’t activate a plugin if no plugins were activated.

I’m not sure this helps as I have the latest build installed. So any changes to the php files is already reflected in my install.
    Any other ideas?

    Hi,
I don’t have any other idea, except what I mentioned above.
Did check to make sure if that change is in your file?

i have the same problem with the latest version installation. all plugin activations return a blank page both for admin pages and front pages. all returns to normal when i delete the plugin from the folder through ftp, but i can’t activate any of my plugins, default or new ones
