• I may be doing something very dumb here, but I can’t get plugins to show up on my Manage Plugins page so I can activate them. I upload the plugin to wp-content/plugins/ (or to plugins/widgets), and I can see the plugin in the Plugin Editor, but it won’t show up under Manage Plugins.

  • Could be a permission problem. Some hosting arrangements may need to have wp-content, wp-content/themes, wp-content/plugins, and wp-content/uploads folder be 777 permissions.

See Changing File Permissions. If necessary, contact your host.

Thanks. That didn’t help. I actually have three plugins already installed, working, and visible in the Manage Plugins screen.

    Open to any other suggestions…

wptwitter.php is one of a half-dozen I’ve tried to use. (I deleted the rest after they didn’t work.) It shows up in the Plugin Editor but not in Manage Plugins.

The same problem arose when I uploaded a plugin into its own subdirectory of plugins/.

    Thanks.

Oh, also, this problem arose after an upgrade to 2.7.1 from 2.7.

I’d delete the plugins folder, download the WordPress distribution via the Download Tab at the top of this page, extract, then reupload the plugins folder to your host.

I had the same problem and still did not find what to do..but after some trying I found the solution – the problem is with one of activated plugins so You have to delete last activated plugin in /plugins directory! Than it should work again!

I tried this solution and it does get the plugins list back. However, as soon as I install/activate any other plugin, either the plugins disappear again completely or partial list of plugins is displayed. Can anyone suggest how to solve this situation?

I am using wordpress 2.7.1 and I have quite a few plugins working in there.

    Thanks,
    syedk

i have the same problem i just updated to the 2.8
