   Hi there, just recently getting into WordPress. I have downloaded a variety of new plugins into by /plugins folder yet none of them seem to be appearing on the admin page to be activated. Any suggestions?

   I just picked up a similar post to this, and the user doesn't seem to have read the installation instructions beforehand >_< It is a bit confusing sometimes, as plugins can be quite different, but essentially the user should have uploaded the folder within the folders to the /plugin folder.

   I have followed the readme files by the letter...any other suggestions?

   @RaptorsHQ, looks like you need to make sure the plugin folder structure is correct. For example, if you have a directory called plugin-name-2.1 and there is another directory inside it called plugin-name, then you have too many directories and plugin-name needs to be moved up one level so it is is the first level inside the plugins folder.

   As designsimply has mentioned. This applies also to lighter-admin-drop-menus.2.7 which should really be:
   /plugins/lighter-admin-drop-menus/
