Plugins and Themes upload hang at "Downloading install package from…"

    Hi All,

    Your help would be much appreciated here.
    Recently (since 5.0) all 8 installs on my servers have stopped working the way they used to.

    Now if I go to download a plugin or theme from the catalogue within WP the install hangs at:
    “Downloading install package from…”

    I have contacted my hosting company and they didn’t have any ideas or suggestions.
    I have tried adding the PHP lines to the .htaccess file but with no success.
