    Hi
    I am new to wp.
    My new site is: http://www.campertrailerseniors.net/
    I want to SEO the site.
    I want to attract new members and register them with a user name/password so they can add stories.
    What type of plugins and stuff do I need?

    WP SEO Plugin is a good start - http://yoast.com/wordpress/seo/
    Read up on SEO online as there are many great articles available.
