    Hello all,

I am new to WP but I am a long time user of Joomla, but I feel that it is time for a change, however I am amazed at the lack of orginazation when it comes to searching for plugins, I only hope that I am doing it wrong and that the orginization is not as bad as it seems to the noob!

No mater what I search for weather it be a menu systen or a more advanced wp editor I am faced with 1000's of plugins most of which are not even relevant! I know with joomla every thing is organized into sections so if I want to see what sort of menu extentions are availble to me I go to the menu section! But it seems that this is not the case with WP, PLEASE tell me I am wrong because as it stands I am already thinking WP is a no go for me as I just dont have the sort of time that would be needed to sit thru the 1000's of pages until I found what I was looking for!

WP is such a big name that I can not believe what I am seeing and pray that I am just looking in with wrong place, however it reall does look as If I am not and the WP is as disorganized as it looks!!! Please tell me I am wrong!!!

  2. WP relies on plugin authors to correctly tag their plugins.

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/menu for example

Yes I am very surprised that such a big resource as WP is not more organised. Being new to WP I am without doubt that it is not easy for a noob to get to grips with WP. Certainly alot easier on Joomla, I just hope that the extra time needed to do research on WP is worth it!
