Plugins 404 error – wont install plugins

    As soon as I hit install on the plugins page, it goes error 404 and takes me to the home page of my site with this message:

    Not Found

    Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.

    Can anyone help me please?

    Its something to do with search function because if i click on popular plugins, and install one it is fine
