• The ZenphotoPress Badge widget shows the raw/original thumbnails, bypassing any edits made to the thumbnail in the gallery.

http://davenporthorses.org/ is rotating through a fair-sized collection of images, so you may not be able to pick up an example immediately (although anything which has a horse’s nose or eyes cut off has probably been edited :). Let me know if you want me to point directly at an image which has an edited thumbnail.

  • Sorry, I haven’t had time to look at it yet. I’m writing just to let you know I plan to look into it at the next opportunity.

In the meantime, if you can point me to an image showing the issue you’re talking about, it’d be helpful 😉

Ok, I can see the image. However, I’m having some problems understanding what do you mean by “edited”.
Are you referring to the custom thumbnail cropping, or is there some additional kind of editing I’m not noticing?

Yes, I’m referring to the custom cropping. The default crop Zenphoto does doesn’t behave well for most of the photos in our gallery, so they get custom crops. The problem is that the badge code doesn’t show the custom crops, just the original/default crop.

The issue should be solved. I still have some testing to do before releasing a new ZPP version, but you can get the Development Version from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/zenphotopress/download/ in the meantime 😉

I have been having this problem as well, and I can confirm that the development version appears to have solved it. Many thanks.

Further to the above, the issue did appear to be solved, but there is one image where the revised crop does not appear in the Zenphotopress widget.

See http://copwick.net/familyhistory for the Zenphotopress widget and http://copwick.net/gallery/families/kemp/page/2/for the thumbnail as it should appear.

It may be relevant that I uploaded that photo after installing the development version of the Zenphotopress plugin. However, other images which were uploaded at the same time are showing with the correct, modified crop.

Could you please point me to the specific image which is displaying the issue? It’s kinda hard to find it among all the others.

Sorry! on the http://copwick.net/familyhistory page it’s the fourth image down in the Zenphotopress widget. A small boy looking disapprovingly at the white border that is showing up on his thumbnail. 😉

There seems to be something generally odd about the way my installation of Zenphoto is dealing with thumbnails. I’ve just noticed that on this page: http://copwick.net/gallery/families/ the thumbnails use the automatic crop whereas the thumbnails in the gallery itself use the revised, manual crop that I did. (For example, click on the “Fisher” link and compare the thumbnail you just clicked on to the one that appears in the subgallery.)

Also the image I was complaining about (of the small boy) now appears to be incorrectly cropped on the second of the two pages I posted links to above. I think this may have changed in the course of some changes I’ve been making to the theme I’m using.

I think I should probably try and ascertain that this is not a local problem relating to my theme before I waste any of your time on it. It may not be a Zenphotopress issue at all.

OK, much if not all of the problem is related to my specific set up – theme issues etc. Please ignore the comments above.
