First off, this is an amazing plugin!
Where is the flv file downloaded and rendered from? I am finding rendering the flv file takes some time. Is this normal.
Would it be possible to add a 'spinning wheel' or something similar to indicate that something is happening when 'download' is clicked, as site visitors may think that the download is not working.

As a suggestion, please could there be an error trap if the download box is empty. At the moment I'm getting
Fatal error: Class name must be a valid object or a string in /hermes/.../wp-content/plugins/youtubefreedown/down.php on line 14

you need to disabel "safe_mode " on your test site or disable CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION : false
