   Just installed 1.4.4 of the plugin which started to ask me about Twitter settings. If I don't tell the settings page to tweet my blog posts then it shouldn't require me to give any Twitter settings.

   Agreed :-) I'm using the plugin to generate short URLs within my own YOURLS install and not necessarily tweet them at the same time.

   If you found an answer or some other support forum that the author watches, please let me know.
